Landscaping
La Quinta at Barkley Ranch Estates takes pride in its desert surroundings. Thoughtful landscaping throughout the community makes our neighborhood visually appealing, conserves water, and keeps common areas safe and well-maintained year-round.
The La Quinta Landscaping Committee takes a careful look at those trees and shrubs that work best for southwest arizona and in particular the Yuma area climate and soil. The Committee provides recommendations designed to help residents establish plantings that are visually attractive, healthy, safe, and water-efficient, and suggest maintenance standards for trees, plants, and lawns throughout the community. That practical guidance from the Committee assists the community in the following ways:
- Landscaping Recommendations: Including best practices for planting, pruning, watering, and mowing that keep individual lots and common areas looking their best year round.
- Signature Trees: A curated list of trees suited to our desert climate, with descriptions and photos of each approved variety.
- Signature Shrubs: Recommended shrub species that provide color and structure while staying manageable and water-wise.
- Cacti & Succulents: Approved cacti and succulent varieties that thrive in Yuma's heat and complement the neighborhood's desert charact aner.
These recommendations help homeowners to make good choices when planting new vegetation and give the Board a consistent standard for maintaining the common areas.
